  1. take Petri dish from picking lab to Z lab
  2. select one hex cap sav. HCS(av) per sample
    1. use HCSav etched with # 1 – 8 from hot plate
  3. discard HF/HNO3 from within HCSav
  4. rinse HCSav and HCSav lid with (H2O)mQ
  5. repeat step 4
  6. under microscope inspect WSav to insure it is clean
  7. in ethanol, transfer Zs into HCSav using transfer pipette
  8. pipette off ethanol
  9. add 10 drops (H2O)mQ to HCSav
  10. pipette off (H2O)mQ
  11. repeat steps 9 and 10
  12. add 20 drops (HF)z and 2 drops (HNO3)z
  13. loosely put lid on HCSav
  14. add 3 – 6 ml (HF)g to large Teflon insert
    1. add 1 – 2 ml (HF)g to small Teflon insert
  15. add 1 drop (HNO3)z for every ml of HF
  16. place HCS(av) into insert
    1. use blue forceps
    2. grasp HCSav by lid
    3. lower into insert
    4. stagger HCSavs so that each lid rests on the other
  17. place insert in metal jacket and put in 220°C oven for ~16 hours
    1. do NOT leave for longer than intended
