Cleaning Filament Bricks | Isotope Geochemistry Lab

remove cover slits from filament bricks
remove filament bricks from inactive turret
wipe gunk off with aluminum oxide powder, water and q-tip
wipe gunk off with a Kimwipe (q-tip) soaked in ethanol
rinse with H2O(mQ) 3 times
add 10% HNO3(cleaning grade) to glass beaker
place on hotplate and bring to a boil
discard HNO3 into glass bottle labeled “discard” or “dirty”
rinse with H2O(mQ) 3 times
discard H2O
quickly move to drying oven overnight
replace filament bricks onto turret
