I am actively recruiting graduate students to work on all of the projects described below. Join an active lab doing diverse research with 3 Ph.D. students, 1 M.S. student and several undergraduates. The Department of Geological Sciences also offers full summer support for graduate students in good standing.

Research Interests

My students and I are broadly focused on understanding the rates of geologic processes so that we can better understand mechanisms. Active research in the isotope lab centers on four areas:

• subvolcanic magma accumulation rates and volcano-pluton connections
• rates of zircon transport in the modern Amazon River
• Cretaceous time scale geochronology
• forensic geology and geoarchaeology
